In this 6 Days tour, you track the critically endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park located in the Virunga Mountains. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates.

Day One: Kigali City Exploration
On arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our tour representative. Start historical-minded exploration of Kigali city with visits to landmarks from colonial, post-independence, genocide and post-genocide times. Memorial site where over 259,000 genocide victims were put to rest in mass graves, Dr. Richard Kandt Museum who was the first Germany explorer to settle in Kigali, Belgian camp where they killed the 10 Belgian UN soldiers who were protecting the moderate prime minister before the start of genocide
Transfer to Akagera National Park. Arrival and proceed to the sunset boat cruise to see the schools of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, different bird species, etc.

Day Two: Akagera National Park Game Drive
Early breakfast followed by the Game drive in search of the big 5 animals i.e. Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant, get an opportunity to see over 12 species of antelopes, over 525 species of birds including the rare ones such as the shoe bill stock, papyrus gynolek, to mention but a few. The park has the highest concentration of birds per square kilometer, very beautiful undulating landscapes, high species numbers and endemic species plus historical and cultural sites inside the park.
Transfer back to Kigali Overnight Scheba Hotel, situated in Kigali.
Day Three: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Early morning transfer to Volcanoes National Park, arrival and completing park formalities then embark on a once in a life time experience of tracking mountain gorillas. Once you spot them you are allowed to spend an hour watching your closest long lost cousin. This is perhaps one of the most breathtaking wildlife experiences on earth!!! You get so close to these awesome giant primates. You stare at each other blankly not knowing who to break the long silence first. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a magical experience. Be back at the base in time for lunch! Some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy.

Day Four: Golden Monkeys, then transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Breakfast and return to the entrance of the Park early morning for briefing followed by the trek to see the Golden Monkeys. It is now believed that they are the only feasible population of Golden Monkeys residing in Volcanoes National Park. They are beautiful and endangered primates which have become quite habituated to humans, making it possible to observe them closely. After lunch at the hotel, transfer to Nyungwe National Park.

Day Five: Chimpanzee Trekking in Nyengwe
Early breakfast at 4:30am then drive to the edge of the forest where chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe starts. In the afternoon, visit the waterfall.

Day Six: Canopy Walk in Nyungwe National Park & Transfer to Kigali
Breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the park reception for briefings followed by the canopy walk way experience.
Transfer back to Kigali
Akagera Game Lodge
Akagera Game Lodge is located in the south of Akagera National Park in Kayonza District, Eastern Province, Rwanda. You can access the hotel via Rwamagana, Kabarondo and Rwinkwavu Road. The trip from Kigali to the hotel will only take you 2 hours. From the lodge you can enjoy some pretty amazing views of Lake Ihema. It offers comfortable accommodation with a simple but tastefully furnished room, restaurant, swimming pool, curio bar, tennis court and a few other life comforts. Usual board basis is there is access to wifi and television for those who cannot live without communication channels.
This spa hotel is 1 mi (1.7 km) from Union Trade Center and 3 mi (4.8 km) from Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Kigali Convention Centre and Stade Amahoro are also within 6 mi (10 km). Mountain Gorilla View Lodge
Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is located on the foothills of the Mount Karisimbi, one of the volcanic mountains that make up the Virunga Massif. The lodge is about 10 minutes’ drive to the main entrance of the Volcanoes National Park where gorilla trekking starts. Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is an Eco-lodge with 30 spacious chalets. To ensure the least disruption of the surrounding environment, the Eco lodge was constructed with locally available material. Every chalet comes with a sitting area with a fireplace and has a tea/coffee making machine.
Nyungwe Top View Hotel
Nyungwe Top View Hotel is idyllically situated on top of one of the hills of Nyungwe forest area; the largest single forest block in East Africa and the biggest water reservoir for Rwanda.

Single Supplement: USD 900
SRS- Stands for Single Room Supplement. We do not have triple rooms in most of the hotels in Rwanda. Most of the hotels have double rooms (A room with one big bed for 2 people or a room with 2 single beds occupied by 2 people) this means the 3rd person will be left without a room to stay and the alternative would be to occupy the single room (a room with one bed ). SRS apply for non-even (3, 5, 7, 9,11…) travellers. Therefore the SRS fee is be paid by the person occupying a room alone.

Transportation – 4×4 Safari Landcruiser / Minivan (up to eight passengers) with pop-up tops and seven window seats for game viewing. Groups of twelve or more people who would like to travel in one vehicle are offered 25-28 seat coasters that have about 16 window seats.
