Visit the world-renowned game reserve of Kenya. Embark on a three-day-two-night Masai Mara Budget Safari from Nairobi and experience the great safari activities for a better price. The Masai Mara is regarded as one of Kenya’s wildlife viewing jewels, as there is an abundance of African wildlife that can be spotted by just going around the reserve, the Mara is also a place with a good chance of spotting the ‘Big Five’ (Lions, Rhinos, Buffalos, Elephants & Leopards) as well as other cheetah’s, hippo’s crocodiles and much more.
The reserve is positioned at 1,600 metres on the Great Rift Valley, which is a fault line that was formed roughly around 20 million years ago when the Earth’s crust began to weaken and tear apart, causing plenty of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions that caused the valley floor to sink and create the wide flat plains. The Mara has a rainy season that runs through the months of November all the way until May. Whilst their dry season is beginning from June to November.
The Masai Mara, whilst famed for being the central hub of African wildlife and containing the ‘Big Five’, it is probably more renowned for hosting part of the annual migration of Wildebeest, Zebras and Antelopes. This great migration starts off from the plains of the Serengeti in Tanzania, where the plains there have either dried up or are drying up, and commences the beginning of the migration from the Serengeti into the Masai Mara. This is the largest multi-species migration, with over 1.5 million Wildebeest, Zebras and Antelopes that are crossing the plains and also through the Mara River. The period of this Great Migration is usually around the end of July until the end of October, which makes the ideal time to embark on this Masai Mara Budget Safari experience.
