Explore one of the most popular National Parks of Uganda. This park is popular due to the good accessibility and off course the stunning Murchison Falls themselves. Visit a local community, enjoy the magnificent scenery with many animals living in their natural habitat, experience the overwhelming boat trip on the Nile and climb the Murchison Falls by foot and get so close that it’s impossible to stay dry.

Murchison Falls National Park lies in north western Uganda, spreading inland from the shore of Lake Albert around the Victoria Nile. It is named for the Murchison Falls waterfall, itself named for a president of the Royal Geographical Society.

Today you will leave early in the morning towards Masindi. After your lunch in Masindi we will head to Boomu womens group. This is the final destination for today. In the afternoon, you will make a village walk and meet the people from the community and get to know how they life their lives.

After your breakfast at Boomu you will enter Murchison Falls National Park, which is only 500 meters from Boomu. After you have entered the park you will soon see the first animals and maybe if you are lucky you will even see a chimpanzee. After about two hours through the park you will reach at Paraa, the centre of the park. Here you will get ready for the boat trip on the Nile. See many hippo’s and crocodiles within a distance of only a few meters and off course many other animals as well. When you reach the Murchison Falls you will get off the boat and hike to the top of the falls. ( this is optional and only for people who are in a good physical condition!) At the top you will have an extraordinary view at the Murchison Falls. The driver is waiting close to the top of the falls and will return you to the rest camp. Off course it is also possible to stay on the boat. Dinner can be consumed at the rest camp.

Today you will wake up early for a morning game drive. You will cross the Nile and go into the delta. The delta is known as one of the best areas for game viewing in Uganda with absolutely stunning scenery. After the game drive you will head back to Kampala.

Red Chilli Rest Camp | Murchison Murchison Falls National Park is the largest national park in Uganda, offering an unrivalled safari experience including classic ‘big game’ viewing opportunities, chimpanzee tracking, breathtaking African scenery, the awesome river Nile, and the eponymous falls. Red Chilli is superbly located to explore Murchison. We are at Paraa on the southern bank of the River Nile in the heart of the park. Our camp is just 500 metres from the Paraa ferry, where all vehicles cross the Nile for game drives around the Nile Delta, and from where boats can be hired for game viewing and sport fishing on the Nile – either up to the base of the Falls, or down to the Nile delta at Lake Albert.
